Ryanair has decided to take strong action against the anonymous critics who are posting false comments about the company's attitude towards the safety. Ryanair has forced the African telecoms group Telkom to share information in this regard.
Ryanair went to court in South Africa against a anonymous critic who goes by the name "alwaysflying" for posting false comments on a website called PPRuNe.org. Ryanair submit a affidavit in court against the online comment which called the flying crew of the airline incompetent.
The online post said:
I donít care if itís wind/ delays/ weather or anything, if you are flying around your destination eating into alternate fuel then you shouldnít be a pilot. If they were employed at my company I would have fired the lot of them.
The airline has made it clear that it does not oppose any honest and objective criticism of its services. But Ryanair is not willing to tolerate any posting which is unlawful and contains wrong statement.
This is not the first time Ryanair has gone after the anonymous critics. Earlier the airline went to court in Republic and forced Eircom and UPC to share information about the people who were making wrong statements about the safety record of the company which otherwise is quite excellent.
Ryanair has hired a firm called "Word to the Wise" which identified the IP addresses of the people who were making unlawful and wrong statements about the company. A lot of users from Ireland, UK and South Africa have been identified against which the company has initiated a legal action. The company seeks public apology from these people for posting wrong information that could potentially hurt the reputation of the company.
