
On Sunday 186 flights faced delays and 3 flights were forced to cancel out of 294 flights set to departure. Monday took the delayed flights number past 400.
Air traffic controllers went ahead with the 48 hours strike on Sunday despite the court had declared the strike illegal. After the verdict of the court, Union announced not to strike but still went ahead with it.
The strike is having very damaging effects on the Greece Tourism Industry. With more such strikes being planned for the future, most tourists are going to avoid traveling until Greece is stabilize.
Tourists faced huge problems at the Athens Airport due to strike, they had to wait for hours to take flight back home. Scene at the Athens Airport was pretty similar to the one after Iceland's Volcano Eruption which closed European Airspace and forced thousands of tourists to stay at the airport.
