Couple of Months back Volcano Eruption in Europe caused havoc for the Tourism Industry. This time Guatemala Tourism has become the victim of the force of nature.

Guatemalan Volcano in Pacaya erupted early Thursday morning which has created state of emergency in the country. The main airport of the country was closed soon after the eruption which followed by the hurricane Agatha and is expected to open later today. Guatemala Tourism board has said that no tourist has lost life yet.

Due to the volcanic eruption air travel is getting unpredictable in the South American Region. Tungurahua volcano in Ecuador erupted just the day after Guatemala Volcano has also made life very difficult for Tourism Industry.

Drifting Ash cloud has shut down major airport in Ecuador and air travel to other South American Destinations like Lima in Peru has also been suspended. Ecuador is trying its level best to rescue of tourists stuck in the area.

Tourism is a major factor for both Guatemala and Ecuador. Recent activities has damaged the tourism pretty badly. Local Tour Operators are worried as the Ecuador does not have Small Business Administration to help them out. Same is the situation in Guatemala.
