
Hotel Industry in Italy also suffered heavy losses and were forced to reduce tariffs by more than 2% which reduced their profits by 700 million euros and cost some 12,000 people or 4.7% of workforce their jobs.
Even after all these sharp decline nobody is confident to say that worse has past for the Italy Tourism. Many experts believe that there is no hope of any recovery in the year 2010.
Italy Tourism is heavily banking on healthy economic recovery in US and rest of the world to help them fill up the losses of last year. Italy Tourism has also shown signs to promote Italy heavily in less recession impacted countries like India, China and Brazil. They are currently working hard to come up with attractive packages for these emerging countries to help them cut losses.

I am sure, judging from our results, that figures are much worse than those officially reported. I think we could safely say that, at least for Rome, visitors where down at least 15% probably more.
Hoping that Italy's tourism will recover.
