Vienna is Gaining Popularity Among Indian Tourists

Austrian capital city of Vienna has become new favorite destination of Indian tourists. In the last 6 years, the number of Indian tourists visiting Vienna has doubled. Vienna has been voted many times as the city with the best quality of living.

As per Vienna Tourism Board, the number of Indian tourists visiting Vienna has reached 25,000 which has doubled in last 6 years. This year too, tourism board expects overnight stays by Indian tourists to exceed the 2011 record of over 55,000 room nights.

Vienna Tourism Board is quite happy with increase in arrivals from India and now plans to take steps to further increase arrivals from India. The Indian tourists are well in demand due to global economic meltdown and the fact that they spend more money of tourist related activities in comparison to Chinese tourists.

The stay of Indian tourists is also longer if compared with Chinese tourists. More and more Indian tourists are exploring new places in Europe. Earlier Switzerland, England and France were the only places in Europe where Indian tourists used to travel.

But now Spain, Ireland and several other countries are also seeing sharp increase in arrivals from India. On the other hand England is struggling to attract Indian tourists due to over complicated visa process.

As the number of arrivals increases to Vienna, Austria may also face similar problems. It would have to act fast become Indian tourists decides to give some other destination a try. Meanwhile, Switzerland continue to remains most popular destination for Indian tourists in Europe.
