Hawaii is the pacific state of the USA which is the only island state separate from North America that holds the tag of the world’s longest island chain made up of 8 main islands and 124 islets and reefs. Hawaii is an island chain spreading in west–northwest and east–southeast direction covering an area of 2,700 km in length. One of the state’s largest islands is an exposed peak of submerged volcanoes. The chain was formed from west to east by volcanic forces that still continue to be active on this island.
It has been blessed with the most beautiful and scintillating section of the nature having large areas covered with tropical rainforests, waterfalls, and stretches of rolling grasslands. Mauna Kea , the world's highest island mountain; Mauna Loa , the largest active volcanic crater in the world; Kilauea, the world's most active volcano; Kohala; and Hualalai form a part of the exotic beauty of Hawaii and an island state for world tourists to visit once in their lifetime.
Mauna Kea is a world centre for astronomy providing the services of gigantic telescopes used for optical, infrared, and sub millimeter astronomy for people fascinated by extra-terrestrial viewing especially under the sparkling moonlight. Puukohola National Historic Site features old temples which were built in times approx. 2 centuries back. At Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the hot steaming Kilauea volcano can be seen. Halemaumau Crater is considered the home of Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes.
The vast history of Hawaii covering centuries forms an interesting place helping archeologists and historians in their studies. The Hawaiin culture is perhaps best known for its dance and music. The traditional dance is the Hula, originally performed in honour of the goddess Laka. Tourists are treated to the popular Hawaiin feast called the Iuau and can participate in a hukilau, or local fishing festival.
Hiking, swimming, fishing and snorekelling are all popular outdoor activities. Surfing, however, which originated in ancient Hawaii, continues to be the leading sport, attracting professionals and amateurs to the islands.
Cuisine of Hawaii is a fusion of many cuisines brought by multiethnic immigrants to the Hawaiin Islands, particularly of American, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Polynesian and Portugese origins, including plant and animal food sources imported from around the world for agricultural use in Hawaii.
Many local restaurants serve the ubiquitous lunch featuring the Asian staple, two scoops of rice, American macaroni salad, and a variety of different toppings ranging from the hamburger patty, a fried egg, and gravy of a Loco Moco, Japanese style tonkatsu or the traditional lu’au favourite, kalua pig.So being a tourist one does not feel the absence of their traditional food.

The temperature of this paradise does not fall below 65 so tourists don’t need to carry heavy luggage. Sticky and humid weather may be a trouble for some so prefer ac rooms as compared to non-ac rooms which themselves are very few over there.
