If an ideal holiday for you would consist of a beach, sunshine and a cocktail in one hand, and ice cream in the other than Barbados is the right place for you. Barbados is a phenomenal island best known for its white sandy beaches and breathtaking blue green sea. This fascinating tropical island provides an excellent location for enthralling water sports activities.

Travel In Barbados Barbados is one of the best travel destination due to its exotic location and tropical weather. One of favourite places for travelers over in Caribbean is Barbados. Barbados has continued to impress visitors year in and year out for its almost year round good weather, friendly culture and breathtaking scenery. Barbados is just one of the popular holiday destinations in the Caribbean Islands, seeing hundreds of tourists each month - what is about Barbados holidays that attracts so many visitors?

Barbados is most famous for its beaches, rivers, natural scenic beauties and public parks. Barbados still holds much of the British history back when the British had colonized the island. There is still much of the British culture left behind on the island, Barbados Beach Travel which many of the British visitors will be able to recognise when they first arrive and appreciate how this has been merged well with the Caribbean culture containing colourful homes, historical monuments, luxury hotels and a few British chain shops.

As well as the unique hotspots and natural beauties, Barbados can cater for families as well as couples and groups. One does not need to spend their time in their hotel as such and can get involved with some of the sporting activities that take place on the beaches nearby such as snorkelling, scuba diving, water skiing, windsurfing and sailing. Furthermore, people who not too keen on taking part in sports may prefer to take a guided tour around the island and become familiar with some of the popular sights.

 

HOW TO REACH

By plane - Sir Grantley Adams International Airport For its size, Barbados boasts a large international airport with dozens of flights arriving in the high season from the UK and Canada as well as the United States. BMI, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways have many flights to Barbados while American Airlines is the dominant carrier from the United States (Miami and New York). Air Canada and Westjet fly from Canada. The airport is 13km (8 miles) east of Bridgetown. Buses run from a stop across the road from the airport up the coast to Bridgetown, Holetown, and Speightstown, but a taxi is the most convenient way to get to your hotel on arrival.

By boat - Many cruise ships dock in Bridgetown, and in fact the Bridgetown deep water harbour has just been expanded to accommodate even more vessels. Private moorings are available around the island. Note: stiff penalties prohibit the dropping of anchors on coral reefs.
