                       LEVI - FINLAND

Levi is one of the biggest ski resorts in Finnish Lapland. The resort is located in
Kittilä municipality and is served by Kittilä Airport and Kolari train station.

The Levi fell is 531 meters above sea level. There are 48 skiing slopes (15 of which
are floodlit) and 26 skiing lifts in Levi. Levi is also the site of the only gondola lifts in
Finland.

The slopes in Levi are mostly suitable for beginners or intermediates, but there are
also four black slopes for experts. The highest vertical drop is 325 meters and the
longest slope is 2,500 meters long. The longest ski lift is about 1,636 meters long.
Levi has one superpipe, one halfpipe, one snow park, 10 children's slopes and
seven slope restaurants.

The skiing and snowboarding season in Levi is very long, lasting, perhaps, from mid
October to the beginning of June.

Other possible activities in Levi are cross-country skiing, snowmobile safaris, biking,
husky dog safaris, fishing, hiking and canoeing. There are 230 kilometres of
cross-country skiing tracks and 750 kilometres of snowmobiling tracks in Levi.
Those looking for peace of mind can take snow shoes and walk to the nearest fell,
Kätkätunturi. Kätkätunturi is located west of Levitunturi and it is 504,6 m high and 7
km long.

Levi has been chosen the best domestic skiing resort in Finland four times.

Near the ski resort of Levi is the Snow Village Lainio, where it is possible to see
snow buildings, stay overnight in a snow hotel or even have your wedding ceremony.

There is not too much to see. Almost everything is concentrated around tourism and
virtually all visitors come here for wintersports. At the summertime hiking in nature is
popular and at the autumn incredible colors of ruska will offer unforgettable
experience.

From the top of Levi fell there are great views to surrounding forests and nearby fells
(Aakenustunturit, Pallastunturit, Ylläs). Town Kittilä is about 10 kilometers south. On
the northern side of Levi center there is Sirkka village inhabited by local people.

At the summertime nights are lit by midnight sun while during winter auroras are
visible almost every cloudless night.
